PerformancePoint used to stand alone as a Microsoft product, called PerformancePoint Server 2007. New to SharePoint 2010 is PerformancePoint Services (PPS), which integrates in SharePoint 2010, as a service application (see Chapter 2 for details on service application architecture). Organizations that install an Enterprise license for SharePoint 2010 may provide PPS to their users with Client Access Licenses (CALs).
