Infrastructure Requirements
Since its previous version, SharePoint 2007, Microsoft has built the SharePoint platform to scale to meet the demands of users accessing SharePoint—be it a public-facing web site, a client Intranet, extranet, or however you use it. SharePoint 2010 has a set of minimum hardware requirements that you must provide to run it on a single server farm for modest user traffic.
Note Microsoft SharePoint 2010 requires, at the very least, a server with four cores running at 2.5 GHz, 8GB of RAM, and 80GB of disk space.
