Excel Services

If you have read the earlier sections of this chapter (and hopefully the previous chapters of this book), it should be no surprise to you by now that Excel Services is yet another service in SharePoint 2010, exposed as a managed application service (see Chapter 2). Just like the configuration of PerformancePoint Services, Business Connectivity Service, Visio Services, and so on, Excel Services requires configuration of a service in the farm and a service application/proxy to expose the functionality in the farm. The following steps start with the configuration of such service and service application.
