Documents and Records Management

Walk into many enterprise organizations and ask someone in a department to describe their document storage and processing operations, and they will likely give you a story about how management of documents and data is far from ideal.

In the time that I have been working with SharePoint and various clients looking to implement an information management system in SharePoint, the situation is typical—documents and files scattered on a shared drive or file share, no categorization, multiple copies of the same document floating around in emails. Even the more organized groups have issues with multiple document and information silos.
