We begin by discussing some RAC-specific development topics, including identifying instances and services, memory and disk considerations, and node affinity. In the second part of the chapter, we examine some advanced RAC pro[(H1F)]gramming techniques and the concepts underlying them, including Transparent Application Failover (TAF), Fast Application Notification (FAN), and the Oracle Clusterware High Availability (HA) Framework.
