Building a Web Site

In this section, we apply all of the performance advice given in Chapters 2 through 5 to an actual web site (http://clikz.us). Because e commerce sites generally require more complex layout than blogs or news listings, we use an e commerce site as our example. Also, when we conceived of the book, we were working for a very large e commerce company, and that was the problem we had in mind.

This section consists of two subsections. The first, Chapters 6 through 9, deals with elements that appear on every page: the HTML boilerplate, the navigation elements, the masthead, and the footer.
