Preface

This is the book I needed when I was learning Drupal. There are a lot of great books out there on Drupal, but none was written for someone with my perspective.

You see, I'm a Windows guy. I cut my teeth on DOS 1.0 in 1982. Edlin and batch files were my friends. I remember the happy day when I got my copy of DOS 2.0. Hierarchical directories! From there it was boxy windows and then overlapping windows, and then, before you knew it, Visual Studio and C#. Along the way, I've programmed in pretty much every OS out there, from CP/M on an 8-bit S-100 machine to VMS on a VAX, to z/OS on an IBM mainframe, not to mention pretty much every flavor of *nix that came along. But I keep coming back to Windows.
