I have worked in the database world for many years, a forty plus year old, well known technology. I started like most studying relational databases, first at university and then in my professional career. About a decade ago I started hearing murmurs of a new type of database emerging that were in an new category called NoSQL. Like many at the time I was too busy to pay it much attention but over time the noise grew to a point where this new movement demanded my attention.
