In most cases, the home user who has one PC and broadband (DSL or cable modem) access to the Internet does not require file and print sharing. With some home networks, however, it might be necessary to have that feature turned on. In scenarios like this, where file and print sharing must be turned on, it is essential to turn on share-level security. This requires the use of passwords and user authentication before using shared resources.
