Localized Emphasis
Adopted from the time-honored skills of the traditional darkroom printer, burning-in and dodging helps to emphasize the main subjects in your image.
The image was shot with a manual Olympus 35-mm SLR, using Fuji Neopan 400 and was grabbed within a split second. The quality of light at the time of capture was flat and overcast, and the negative was further reduced in contrast by developing in Agfa Rodinal to produce a low-contrast but versatile starting point and to minimize the granularity of the film.
