Pricing Tool to Trading Platform

In the last chapter, we went through the features of the pricing tool from a user's perspective. Despite all its user interface niftiness and its modular design, the pricing tool is not close to being a trading platform. In this chapter, we will first look at some its implementation details and briefly outline how we can add the necessary features to make it a viable trading platform.

In both these topics, we will be brief, and for good reasons. The implementation details, though interesting from a software design and development point of view, may not appeal to all readers. For this reason, we have delegated the detailed source code documentation to the accompanying CD. On the requirements of a real trading platform, we have already spent quite a bit of time (in Chapter 10) highlighting the shortcomings of the pricing tool where applicable. We will, therefore, limit ourselves to high-level descriptions of these topics in this chapter. Such a description may serve as a ‘to-do’ list of the pricing tool, as well as an introduction to the detailed source code documentation on the CD.
