DATA RECOVERY

Data recovery is about restoring the database to a state that is known to be correct after a failure. Policies must be in place whereby the risks to the data is assessed and then adequate provision is made to ensure that it will be possible to restore the data if necessary. The implementation of these policies must be monitored; when there are no failures from which to recover, it is very easy to overlook the need to prepare for the worst.

  • transaction failures;

  • system crashes;
