Figure 4.13 shows a familiar triangle used to illustrate the trade-offs between three competing aims – quality, speed and cheapness.

You can only ever have two of these three. If you need a high-quality corporate data model quickly, it will be very expensive. If you need a high-quality corporate data model without paying a lot of money, it will take a long time to produce. If you need a corporate data model quickly and you cannot afford to pay much for it, the model will be of poor quality. The trick is to pick the best two for your particular situation.
