Chapter 2. Simulation Methodology

As discussed in the preceding chapter, simulation plays an important role in the design of communication systems. Simulation is used for the detailed design of various components in a communication system as well as for system-level performance evaluation. This chapter is, in many ways, a continuation of the material presented in Chapter 1. In this chapter we will consider the modeling and simulation process in more detail and will see that there are both qualitative and quantitative aspects of simulation.
