Chapter 8. Using Graphics to Increase the Value of Your Message

All good designs have a preselected set of elements that help keep the focus on the ideas and off the design itself. If someone is paying attention to the design, they aren't paying attention to your content. Good design supports and helps communicate the message. When it's done well, people notice that the material is presented in a way that makes it easier to understand, but they won't be consciously focusing on the design.

In this chapter, I show you what you can do with graphics to improve message communication. You can use all sorts of graphics. Some are created in Prezi and some in design programs. Take a look at what your options are and then choose from a wide array of elements.

Creating the Best Design

There are several design dimensions to consider when deciding how your prezi will communicate your message. These include the following:

  • Text styles: Choose the fonts that will most effectively communicate the mood and tone as well as the message. The Web has an unlimited number of font styles available for download. You don't need to confine your choices to ones that are available in Prezi. You can use your favorite design program to create text in whatever font you want and upload it to Prezi.
