Chapter 7. Making Great Presentations
Great presentations are developed by careful thought and hard work. When you start a new presentation, you should begin with the expectation that you can make it a great one. When you look back at most of the inspiring presentations you've seen, you'll notice that they all have a few things in common. These are the sorts of things I discuss in this chapter: the methods that help you create a firm foundation upon which to build a great prezi.
In this chapter, I show you the key elements that go into making a great presentation and how you can apply them to your next prezi. I discuss how the human mind processes visual information and how storytelling and design factors can support your vision.
Understanding How the Mind Watches a Presentation
To understand the best way to deliver a presentation, it's a good idea to first take a brief look at how the human mind processes visual information. Contrary to what you might imagine, your eyes focus only on a small amount of information at one time. You see about seven to nine letters' worth of space depending on the size of the image or letters. The reason you're not aware of this limited scope is that your eyes are constantly moving and fixing on the next set of letters or images.
