Chapter 3. Getting Familiar with the Online Interface

Everything about Prezi is unique. The interface takes the form of a group of round bubbles rather than linear menu bars. This should signal to you that the online program isn't bound by typical conventions. You're presented with an unlimited digital canvas upon which you can create dynamic presentations. The good news is that's it's easy to understand and use. And it works with all sorts of other program formats like Acrobat and Flash, so you can use media you've created in other programs to enhance your prezi.

This chapter acts as an introduction to the Prezi menu and shows you how to navigate using the built-in tools like the Transformation Zebra tool. Seeing a presentation created with Prezi is all the coaxing you'll need to dive right in and get started.

Introducing Prezi Components

To get started with Prezi, try out the main Bubble menu that sits on the upper left of your Prezi Edit screen. Remember that you'll be able to do things in Prezi that you can't with slide programs, so be prepared to try new ideas.

Prezi has two modes: Show and Edit. When you open and revise a prezi you are automatically in Edit mode. You will stay in that mode until you are ready to finalize your presentation. To move to Show mode you click the Show bubble. Show mode has lots of tools ...
