The flipside of speaking is listening. This is when you think about your group asking you questions. Before we come to strategies to deal with The Dreaded Q&A, it’s important that you ask yourself a question.

Why do you want people to ask you questions?

Aren’t some of your worst presentation nightmares about answering a question badly? Isn’t encouraging questions just opening the floodgates to difficulty and embarrassment? Wouldn’t it be easier if you just muttered, ‘Any questions?’, let everyone sit in silence for a few seconds, and then you just sat down?
