Chapter 10. Previewing a Sequence

You can preview a sequence in the Program Monitor by just clicking its Play button or the keyboard equivalent. During this preview of the sequence, Premiere Pro CS3 uses your system’s resources to render the frames on the fly. Naturally, segments with transitions and other effects require more processing than those without. That’s because effects force Premiere Pro CS3 to generate new material. To create a cross-dissolve transition, for example, the system must digitally combine the first shot with the next.
