Audio Fades

You can specify how Premiere processes audio fades in the Audio panels of the Project and Export Movie Settings dialog boxes. Ordinarily, Premiere processes audio fades according to a linear progression. When you choose logarithmic audio fades, however, Premiere processes the audio according to a logarithmic scale, which more closely approximates the way the human ear perceives audio-gain increases and decreases (Figure 18.34). Logarithmic fades sound more natural but require more processing time.
