Replacing Clip References

When you edit offline in Premiere, the clips in your project refer to low-quality video files. For your online version, you want the project to refer to the recaptured high-quality clips.

If you use the Project Trimmer before you recapture, the clips are renamed, so the clips in the trimmed project refer to files captured from the trimmed batch list.

If you opt to create a batch list manually, the clips are not renamed. After you recapture, the project may continue to refer to the lower-quality versions (even if they’re not currently on the hard disk). You must get the project to refer to the new clips.
