Capturing Analog Audio

If your computer is equipped with a sound-recording device, you can digitize audio in an audio-only format, such as AIFF or WAV. Unlike analog video capture cards, analog audio input is a built-in feature of most computers.

Regrettably, you can’t capture analog audio directly from Premiere in either the Mac or Windows platforms. Surprisingly, Adobe dropped this feature from the Mac version of Premiere. And although the Windows version retains its File > Capture > Audio Capture command, it has always been just a shortcut for opening another audio recording program, and not really integrated into Premiere itself.
