Printing to Video

The Print to Video command is designed to present your video (whether a clip, storyboard, or program) on your computer screen—all by itself, without the unsightly computer desktop or other windows. However, you can also use Print to Video to record to tape, particularly if you only have manual control over your camera or deck. If you’re using FireWire or another form of device control, use the Export to Tape option, described in the next section.

To print to video:

1.
Do either of the following:
  • To export the program from the timeline, select the Timeline window or Monitor window.

  • To export a clip, open a video clip.

To define the footage you want to export, do either of the following:
  • In the program, set the work area ...
