Using Multiple Effects

You can add any number of effects to a clip. You can layer different effects onto a single clip or apply the same effect more than once, specifying different settings each time.

When a clip has more than one effect, Premiere applies the effects in the order in which they appear in the list, from top to bottom. When you need to alter an effect—such as to remove it or adjust its keyframes—make sure you have the correct one selected.

To select the current effect in the Effect Controls palette:

Make sure that the Effect Controls palette is visible, and select a clip in the timeline.

In the Effect Controls palette, click the name of the effect you want to adjust. The name of the effect becomes bold (Figure 11.26).
