Removing and Disabling Effects

The Effect Controls palette also permits you to remove an effect or merely disable it temporarily. Disabling an effect leaves it applied to the clip with its settings intact, but excludes it from previews and export. Disabling a clip is useful when you want to compare how the clip looks with and without an effect. It’s also handy if you’re already satisfied with the effect but don’t want to slow previews.

To remove an effect:

1.	In the Timeline window, select a clip containing effects. A thin blue line at the top of the clip indicates that it contains effects. When the clip is selected, its effects are listed in the Effect Controls palette.
