Adding an Effect

This task summarizes the basic process of adding an effect to a clip. You’ll discover that each effect has a unique set of parameters, or properties, that you can customize. Specific instructions for using the Effect Controls palette to set values for these effect properties are covered in the next section, “Adjusting Effects Settings.”

To add an effect to a clip in the timeline:

1.
Do either of the following:
  • To add a video effect, drag an effect from the Video palette to a video clip in the timeline (Figure 11.8).
