Panning and Balancing

Redistributing monophonic audio between stereo speakers is called panning. Redistributing stereophonic audio between two speakers is called balancing. Premiere gives you the same control over panning and balancing that you have over fading. You can pan or balance audio over time and adjust it in increments of 1 percent.

This section covers the basics of panning audio. Except for the cross-fade tool, the tools available for fading audio—the fade adjustment and scissors tools—work exactly the same way for the pan/balance control.

To pan an audio clip:
