Using Edge Viewing
The left edge of a clip in the timeline is the in point, or head; the right edge is the out point, or tail. In the sections that follow, you’ll learn to use various tools to trim a clip’s edges directly in the timeline. Though the positions of the edges give you an idea of where a clip starts and ends in the timeline, they can’t show you what the frame actually looks like. To see the edge frames in the program view as you trim, activate edge viewing. If you don’t need to see the edge frame as you trim, turn edge viewing off to spare Premiere the work of updating the program view.
