Finding the Match Frame

Experienced editors may wonder whether Premiere has a match-frame feature. A match-frame feature not only opens a program clip’s associated master clip, but also cues the source edit line to the identical frame in the program. In other words, by cueing the edit line in the program, you can find the matching frame in the appropriate master clip.

To find a program clip’s match frame:

Cue the program to the frame for which you want to find a match frame (Figure 7.74).
