Playing the Program in the Timeline

In Chapter 4, you learned to use playback controls in the Monitor window to cue the current frame of the program. In the timeline, the current frame of the program is indicated by the edit line, a small triangular indicator with a vertical line extending from it. In addition to using the playback controls in the Monitor window, you can change the current time of the program by moving the edit line directly.

To cue the edit line:

  • Do one of the following:

    • In the Timeline window, click the time ruler to move the edit line to that point in the timeline (Figure 6.35).
