Using Monitor Window Controls

As suggested earlier in this chapter, editing with the Monitor window controls isn’t as intuitive as the drag-and-drop method. The Monitor window controls, however, can provide greater flexibility and speed in editing. If you chose Premiere to take advantage of its professional editing tools, you owe it to yourself to learn these controls.

Before you proceed, however, you’ll need to understand a few basic concepts:

Three-point and four-point editing— methods to determine where clips begin and end in both the source and the program.
