Comparing Editing Methods

You add clips to the program in two primary ways. Dragging and dropping is one way; using the Monitor window controls is the other. Each method has its advantages, so knowing both is wise.

Drag-and-drop

The drag-and-drop method takes advantage of the computer’s ability to display clips as objects that you can move and place by using the mouse. Most users find this technique the most intuitive and reassuringly similar to the way that the Macintosh and Windows systems work (Figure 5.1).
