Clip Windows

Before Premiere 5, movie clips always appeared in separate clip windows. Now you can choose whether to open clips in the source view or in separate clip windows, and set which method is the default.

Unlike movie clips, still images always open in separate windows (see “Still-Image Clip Windows” later in this chapter). It’s also useful to open audio clips in separate windows, to take advantage of a different view of the audio information and use different controls (see “Using Audio-Clip Windows” later in this chapter).

To open a clip in a separate clip window:
