Viewing Clips

Premiere’s intuitive interface makes viewing a clip simple, no matter where it appears in your project. In a single-track editing workspace, clips are loaded into the source view by default; in an A/B roll editing workspace, clips appear in separate clip windows by default. The following tasks assume that the default is set to opening clips in the source view of the Monitor window (set to dual view). You can change the default at any time, however.

To load a clip in the source view:

  • Do either of the following:

    • Double-click a clip in a Project window or the Timeline window.

    • Drag a clip from the Project window into the source view of the Monitor window (Figure 4.9).
