Importing Digital Audio

If you’re using the Mac OS, you can import tracks from an audio CD without leaving Premiere. Using QuickTime, Premiere directly converts the track on the CD to a QuickTime movie file. Because this process converts the audio digitally, it prevents the quality loss associated with the conventional digitizing process (in which the CD audio is played back, delivered as an analog signal, and digitized again). Moreover, a digital conversion can take less time than playing the track in real time.

To import an audio CD track (Mac OS only):
