Saving Projects

Because your project file embodies all your editing decisions, protecting it from possible mishaps is crucial. As with any important file, you should save your project often and keep backups. Premiere can help you protect your project by automatically saving it to the Project-Archive folder. In the event of a system crash or file corruption, you can retrieve one of the archived copies.

To save a project:

To save a project, do one of the following:
  • Choose File > Save to save the project under the current name and location or to save the project for the first time.

  • Choose File > Save As (Figure 2.31) to save the project under a new name or location and continue working on the new copy of the project.
