Chapter 1. Premiere Basics

Before embarking on a journey, it can be useful to survey the landscape and learn a few local customs. In this chapter, you’ll get oriented to Premiere’s interface, and catch a glimpse of what’s to come. In addition, you’ll learn about the basic workings of the Premiere interface: How to use contextual menus, keyboard shortcuts, and commands, and how to undo mistakes. Once you’ve familiarized yourself with this little “travel guide,” you can get your passport stamped in Chapter 2, “Starting a Project.”
