12. Show Your Status and Update Your Estimate

Sometimes, you need to explain where you are in the project, and when you expect to be done to other people. Consider a probabilistic estimate.

Make sure you don’t fall into the 90% Done schedule game. (See Manage It! Your Guide to Modern, Pragmatic Project Management, (ROTPM) for a large list of schedule games, including the 90% Done game.)

And, when are you done? You can stop a project if there is no more value, or you’ve run out of time, money, or people.
