4 Global Journalism Freedom
The globalization of journalism over recent years has had repercussions for the way journalism is practised in individual countries as well as by the global journalist. The effects of globalization are seen in all areas, both from the way stories are reported domestically and internationally, as well as in other areas such as those concerning legal and ethical matters. In this chapter I intend to look at journalist freedom in a number of countries around the world to see how things are changing. The issues of freedom of reporting are also mentioned again in the later individual country chapters.
