THE RE-ITERATIVE NATURE OF THE 4-D CYCLE
The most important part of any AI process is for the “planners” to understand that every decision is a “rapid prototype”—in other words, in a world that is changing at the speed of imagination, what seems to be the “right” process one minute can be irrelevant a few minutes later. The “planning” skill in an AI world is to be ready for and, hopefully, to embrace the notion that every plan is flexible and susceptible to change, depending on the continuous and unrelenting stream of information that bombards all human systems today. It is useful continuously to ask one another, “How’s it going?” and to be ready to shift gears at any moment.
