SO DO WE BUILD IT OR BUY IT?

This last point leads us to the ubiquitous question: Should we create it or obtain it? That question, again in keeping with point 5 above, should be within the purview of the OD professionals. Here are some logical areas of “traditional” internal OD responsibility. That is, an investment in OD by the organization should logically provide such interventions as the following: succession planning, career development, synthesis of succession and career planning, and much more.
Here are the logical areas for which outside help is sometimes needed, either in conjunction with internal OD or as an independent intervention:
