MOBILIZING ENERGY
Effective closure mobilizes energy for new initiatives and next steps. Given the fast pace of change, it is easy to quickly shift focus and fail to effectively close an OD effort. For example, in one organization, where one of us supported a cultural change effort with a focus on creating a respectful environment for employees and customers, much progress was made. The organization dramatically improved its rating by an external publication, internal employee surveys had marked improvement, and customers gave positive ratings about their experience of respect and service.
