A BRIEF HISTORY OF AI

The birth and co-founding of AI happened in 1980, in the organizational behavior doctoral program at Case Western Reserve University. It was the result of collaboration between David Cooperrider and his advisor, Dr. Suresh Srivastva. As a doctoral student, David was involved with a group from Case working with the Cleveland Clinic in a conventional diagnosis or organizational analysis in search of “What’s wrong with the human side of the organization?” In gathering his data, David was amazed by the level of positive cooperation, innovation, and egalitarian governance he was finding in the organization.
