LEADER-PRACTITIONER ATTRIBUTES FOR LEADING CHANGE

Galpin’s (1996, p. 70) model of key attributes for leading change identifies areas for potential improvement for the leader/change-agent/consultant. Galpin’s model (Figure 6.1) indirectly suggests that the leader is mindful of the working with approach (collaboration) in making change happen, instead of insisting that the members “work for” him or her, representing control, in bringing change. The italicized words that follow are Galpin’s description of the key attributes in Figure 6.1 and are used for descriptive purposes (1996, pp. 71-73).
