Carrying on with Emacs

On the Web, you can find a reference card for Emacs at this site:

http://www.imada.ou.dk/Technical/Refcards/

This may help you with all the different key bindings. The author of this chapter, Jesper Pedersen, has written a program called the Dotfile Generator, which is very useful for beginners to Emacs. This is a configuration tool that helps you set up many of Emacs’ variables. The Dotfile Generator can be downloaded from its home page at this site:

http://www.imada.ou.dk/~blackie/dotfile

You can find two manuals about elisp: a reference manual called elisp-manual and an introduction called emacs-lisp-introduction, at this site:

ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/

The introduction is for newcomers to programming.
