Compute checksum on file or pipeline
Usage: sum options [list-of-files]
Standard Input: Used only if no list-of-files is given
Standard Output: Used to display results
Note
A matching checksum indicates a high probability that the data is the same.

Useful options:
-l supports a long 32-bit checksum under SCO UNIX 3.2v5 (but not SCO UnixWare 7).
-r means compute rotating checksum that can detect differences in order as well as contents.
