Comparisons

In this appendix, you'll find a comparison of naming conventions and datatypes, as well as the most common SQL functions for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise, Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Oracle. All of the versions are represented with the syntax conventions described in this book, although in some cases the syntax has been simplified to make the entries easier to read and to compare. For example, we shorten all types of expressions (constant_expression, non_aggregate_expression, and so on) to “expr” and substitute “INT” for “INTEGER.”
