The first thing to do after the first boot is to update the system. Critical updates should be applied as soon as possible. Be sure to test these updates in test environments. First, do this to confirm proper function. If there are no compatibility issues, you should then test them in production.

For Linux, you can run a command to fetch all updates:
sudo apt-get update
