Capturing Windows and the Desktop

Use the xwd, xmag, or xv client, found under the /usr/X11R6/bin directory, to capture a window picture, a portion of the X11 display, or the entire desktop. This is a handy way to capture, copy, or print graphics from your X11 sessions. Some of the techniques and X11 clients described in this section might come in handy if you use any of the graphics programs described in Chapter 15, "Using Graphics and Multimedia Tools."
