‘Leadership’ as a phenomenon

Abstract

This book was written on the premise that ‘leadership’ is not an isolated concept that is definable by a list of ‘leadership traits’ or certain types of ‘leadership personalities.’ Thus operative conditions or ‘themes’ that created the phenomenon of ‘leadership experience’ in biopharmaceutical executive interviewees were the focus of the qualitative study for this book. Two interdependent and interacting major thematic categories (‘themes’) were identified: competence and commitment.
